Abstrak
The Use of Flashcards in Teaching Vocabulary at Fifith Grade Students of SD Bintang Pertiwi. There are two problems in this research. Those are “What are the procedures of flashcards and what are strengths and weaknesses of flashcards in teaching vocabulary for Fifth Grade Students of SD Bintang Pertiwi?”. In this research, the researcher uses descriptive research with Fifth grade students of SD Bintang Pertiwi which consists of 20 students as the subject. To collect the data, the researcher uses observation and test. Then, to analyze the data the researcher uses reduction, display and conclusion. The results of the research in application of flashcards in teaching vocabulary are the students’ average score after the implementation of flashcards is 8.05 and the students’ average score before the implementation of flashcards is 6.50. So, it can be concluded that the implementation of flashcards in teaching vocabulary of Fifth grade of SD Bintang Pertiwi is effective. The strengths of flashcards in teaching vocabulary are flashcards gives some contribution for the students’ competence and achievement, there is almost without weaknesses within the use of flashcards in teaching vocabulary for elementary school students.
